During 21-28 April, 2009, the Army Planning Symposium was held in conjunction with the Federal Planning Division, APA National Training Conference. The symposium serves as the National forum for the Army’s Master Planning community of Practice and also enables planners from the other Services and Federal Agencies to network and learn about the current practices of Federal community planning.

This year, the Army was awarded for Federal Planning excellence for the sustainable planning effort at Fort Lewis, and The Real Property Master Planning Digest work by IMCOM around the country.  Our planning community should be proud of the work.

Jerry Zekert, and Dr. Mark Gillem hosted a breakout session at the National Planning Conference with regards to sustainable planning and form-based planning practices in the Army.  It was well attended and many of our National planning professionals were amazed with the leading work of planning being implemented.

Next year, the Army Planning Symposium will be held the first week of April 2010 in New Orleans LA  Return to 2009 Planning Symposium home page
